Postpartum Shedding Q&A

Hey chica’s, I’ve been getting a to of questions asking if I have experienced any extreme hair loss after giving birth. So I thought I would make a post about Postpartum Shedding. What is Postpartum Shedding? Hair loss after pregnancy is the sudden shedding (sometimes in clumps) that many new mothers experience between three and six months after they give birth. This is a temporary phase. In the normal cycle of hair growth, some hair is lost every day. But during pregnancy the increased levels of estrogen in your body freezes hair in the growing (or “resting”) phase of the cycle. Hair that would normally fall out stays put, resulting in thicker hair. My experience has been pretty good. I won’t say normal because a lot of what I read about on  Postpartum shedding has been mix opinions  During my pregnancy, my hair did not shed at all. My hair was super manageable. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I must mention that I am super happy 2016 has ended. It was a difficult year for me, and my family, so I’m super happy its over and gone. YAY! Moving on! This year in the BIG 2017. We should all take a look at ourselves in a mirror and think about the value on life, and the lives of others. 2017 is going to be a challenge for the world.
